Bangladesh Football Federation has lifted the transfer ban that was imposed on Saif Sporting Club as Fifa has absolved the club.

BFF in a press release Saturday said the ban has been lifted according to the Fifa Disciplinary Case ref no: 200240, 200259 and 200274.

The press release further stated as per communication of the secretariat of the Fifa Disciplinary Committee, the case against Saif is closed as the club have fulfilled their economic responsibilities.

For that reason, Fifa has requested the BFF to withdraw the transfer ban on Saif regarding the aforementioned cases.

Fifa imposed a transfer ban on the Bangladesh Premier League side after the club had failed to pay their dues to three foreign players within Fifa’s deadline.

During 2016, Saif, an erstwhile Championship Club, brought three foreign players - Slovakia midfielder Macko Viliam, Montenegro forward Sava Gardasevic and Serbia defender Goran Obradovic as per request of their Serbian coach Nikola Kavazovic but following a trial, they were not signed.

However, they demanded compensation according to the draft contact and in response to their complaints, lodged in 2017, Fifa imposed a penalty on the Bangladesh club.

The highest footballing authority in the world issued letters to Saif on March 13, 14 and 23 this year, asking them to pay $4,000 to each of the three players as outstanding remuneration, and pay $32,500 to Viliam, $40,000 to Gardasevic and $21,000 to Obradovic as compensation.

The club authority recently informed the media that they paid the sums to the players and hence Fifa quashed the cases against them.
