Chittagong Abahani Limited advanced to the semi-finals of the 2017 Walton Federation Cup after edging Sheikh Russel Krira Chakra 4-2 in the tiebreaker at Bangabandhu National Stadium on Thursday. The last eight tie rolled into penalties after normal and extra time ended with both sides all square at 1-1.
Mehrab Hasan Nayan put Sheikh Russel ahead in the 10th minute but Chittagong Abahani brought parity just three minutes later through Zahid Hossain.
Earlier on Wednesday at the same venue, Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club became the first team to book their last four ticket when they pipped Mohammedan Sporting Club Limited 1-0.
