The Bangladesh Football Federation, following a Fifa verdict, has imposed a transfer ban on Saif Sporting Club regarding the payment issue of three foreign players the club brought for trials two-three years ago, but didn’t make them play.
Saif managing director Nasiruddin Chowdhury felt that they were “trapped” at the hands of three footballers - Macko Viliam of Slovakia, Sava Gardasevic of Montenegro and Goran Obradovic of Serbia – who came to Dhaka alongside the club’s former Serbian coach Nikola Kavazovic “for trial” before the 2017-18 season.
Nasir tried to explain the nature of the “preliminary” contract upon the arrivals of the east European trio who were soon released by the club, and the players were not registered by the BFF later for the season.
The three players and their agents approached world football’s governing body with the documents of the initial contracts.
Fifa disciplinary committee gave the verdicts on March 13, 14 and 23.

The deadline to pay dues was over on April 23.
“We missed the deadline due to coronavirus situation. We will pay the dues once the government offices open,” said the club’s MD.
He added, “We are trapped because we released them before the club registered new players for the season intended.”
According to media release sent by BFF and the statement of general secretary Abu Nayeem Shohag Saturday, Saif are banned from registering new players, either nationally or internationally, until the payment of 5,000 Swiss francs is not made.
