Mohammedan Sporting Club Limited thrashed Uttar Baridhara Club 4-1 in their Bangladesh Premier League match at Bangabandhu National Stadium in Dhaka Saturday.
Despite the scoreline, Uttar Baridhara gave it a right good go initially, scripting a host of goal-scoring chances and even bringing parity at one stage.
Mohammedan however, proved too strong at the end as they romped to their fourth victory in six matches, earning 12 points.
Uttar Baridhara in contrast are stranded in the relegation zone with just one point from five games, the loss against Mohammedan turning out to be their fourth defeat.
The first half was a evenly contested affair with Alfaz Ahmed’s Uttar Baridhara and Sean Lane’s Mohammedan going close to breaking the deadlock on a number of occasions.
In the third minute, Uttar Baridhara’s Brazilian Leonardo Viera Lima entered the box but couldn’t take a shot while in the 24th minute, the Brazilian let his side down once again after shooting wide from a Arif Hossain pass.

Mohammedan somewhat went ahead against the run of play in the 31st minute through an own goal.
Sumon Reza put through his own net while trying to clear Habibur Rahman Shohag’s free-kick in a goalmouth scramble inside the box.
Uttar Baridhara equalized in the 52nd minute when Maruf Ahmed found the back of the net from a Nayan Mia corner.
It was all Mohammedan though from there onwards as Amir Hakim Bappi headed home from a Soleymane Diabate cross from the byline in the 71st minute.
Malian forward Diabate made it 3-1 four minutes later after going past a defender and placing home with his right foot.
Obi Moneke completed the rout in injury time when he skipped past a defender and the opposition goalkeeper before unleashing a perfect left-footed shot.
