Argentine striker Hernan Barcos, the former teammate of Lionel Messi, arrived in Dhaka to complete the signing formalities with the Bangladesh Premier League champion Bashundhara Kings Wednesday as part of his planned week-long stay.

The 35-year old, who made four appearances for the Albiceleste in 2014, was due to complete the signing formalities of a 10-month deal in the night.

He can only play though in the 2020 AFC Cup starting in March and will miss the first phase of the Bangladesh Premier League.

“I have come here for the first time. I searched on internet to know about Bangladesh and Bashundhara Kings before agreeing to play here. World-Cup player Colindres [Daniel Colindres] is also in our team. I hope, we can be a good team,” said Barcos to reporters after his arrival.

Barcos is expected to make his debut for the Kings against Maldives outfit TC Sports in the AFC Cup group stage on March 11.

Barcos represented Argentina against Paraguay, Peru, Uruguay and Chile during the 2014 World Cup qualification round.
