Gulf in class no matter as Kings battle Police

The difference between Bashundhara Kings and Police Football Club in terms of quality and depth of the squad is evident but Friday's semi-final between the two sides has gone beyond prediction after how the other favorites have seen the exit door from the unpredictable TVS Federation Cup so far.

Oscar Bruzon is confident of making it to the final but couldn’t hide his concerns over the fatigue of the Bangladesh players in the squad after a 120-minute quarter-final against Bangladesh Muktijoddha Sangsad Krira Chakra Tuesday.

“We are calm and confident as our players are showing positive signs, which makes us think we are on the right track to be again in the tournament final,” said the Spanish coach of the premier league champion.

He added, “We expect a strong and in-form opposition, morally boosted due to their recent positive results. They are a well organized team, diligent on their game tactics and solid in their shape that tries to put pressure on opponents’ defence with their foreign strikers.”

Following an extra day’s break than the Kings and no fatigue concerns, Police’s Serbian coach Nicolas Vitorovic however, reminded the big names in the Bashundhara bench while comparing their 3-1 win over Saif Sporting Club Monday.

“We have to be realistic because Bashundhara are much different. They have five-six national players on the bench but Saif didn’t and any of them could make difference. We just want to go on the pitch and play the game our way. It would be big win if we make it,” said Vitorovic ahead of their first ever semi-final in the competition.
