Saif Sporting Club have terminated their Maldivian head coach Mohamed Nizam Thursday, two days after the side conceded a 3-1 defeat against newcomer Police Football Club in the quarter-final of the TVS Federation Cup.
“We didn’t get the results we expected in the Federation Cup despite having national players in the squad. We thought he [Nizam] is not the coach we need in the long run and thus bid him farewell,” said Nasiruddin Chowdhury, the managing director of the club.
Nasir added that they will start looking for the new coach soon and those who have experience in Bangladesh football would be the priority.
Nizam on the other hand is scheduled to leave Dhaka Friday.
