Football legend Diego Armando Maradona will visit Bangladesh during the Mujib Barsho, the year-long celebration of the birth centenary of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, confirmed Bangladesh Football Federation President Kazi Salahuddin on Tuesday.
“BFF will get Maradona into Bangladesh during the birth centenary of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. He will come to wish the 100th birth anniversary of Bangabandhu and meet the Prime Minister [Sheikh Hasina] to convey the messages,” Salahuddin told the reporters at BFF House.
Salahuddin himself is the greatest football star of the country.
The former striker, who is BFF president for third time in a row, was also excited with the maiden tour of the Argentine football icon.

Mujib Barsho will begin on March 17, 2020. Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman was born on March 17, 1920.
The country has taken a number of mega initiatives to celebrate the birth centenary of its first president regarded as the father of the Bangali nation.
BFF general secretary Abu Nayeem Shohag informed that they had already started talking with Maradona’s agent who is negotiating his visit.
“The agent ensured us about the matter two-three days ago. Maradona would visit for one-two days between June to November next year. The detailed itinerary will be confirmed later,” said Shohag.
