Injured national team duo- defender Topu Barman and midfielder Atiqur Rahman Fahad- and Arambagh’s young national forward Rabiul Hasan penned a season-long deal with reigning Bangladesh Premier League champions Bashundhara Kings yesterday. Both Topu and Fahad played for runners-up Abahani Limited last season.
The Kings earlier made three more signings on Friday including former Sheikh Russel Krira Chakra defender Yeasin Khan who scored his first ever international brace during Bangladesh’s second friendly against Bhutan the previous day. The club also extended the deals of forward Mahbubur Rahman Sufil and goalkeeper Anisur Rahman Zico for one more season.
Bashundhara’s technical director Bayezid Alam Zubair Nipu also informed that they may complete the signings of Sheikh Jamal right-back Monir Hossain and Rahmatganj goalkeeper Hamidur Rahman Remon along with extending the contracts with Emon Mahmud, Motin Mia, Tawhidul Alam Sabuz, Nurul Naim Faysal and Mitul Hasan today.
The premier league players’ transfer window began on Tuesday but none of the 13 clubs have done their players registrations at the Bangladesh Football Federation.
