Titled the Dhaka South and North City Corporation Pioneer League 2017, the U-16 tournament will feature 48 teams from Dhaka metropolitan and 24 from outside the capital city.
The matches will be held at six different venues in Dhaka. The Pioneer League committee informed that the registration process for 2250 players has already been completed.
Among the 72 teams, 20 sides will contest the final rounds while the top four teams will qualify for the third division. Ten teams will get relegated.
There will be a training camp with the top performers after the end of the league. More than 70 players will be chosen for preliminary selection. The roster will then be cut to 30 players for final training.
Meanwhile, according to the BFF calender, the Pioneer League was scheduled to start in April this year. The BFF will form six sub committees for the tournament, including grounds, disciplinary, law and order, appeal, opening and closing and selection.
