Bangladesh crush SL in Saff U-15

Previously, Bangladesh made a flying start in the tournament by defeating Bhutan 5-2 in their first match at the same venue Friday

Bangladesh won their second match of the five-nation Saff U-15 Championship 2019 as Al Amin Sarkar scored five times to thrash Sri Lanka 7-1 at Kalyani Stadium in the Nadia district of West Bengal, India Sunday. 

Defending champion Bangladesh dominated the game from the get go, and took a three-goal lead into the first half break. 

Al Amin scored the opening goal for Bangladesh in the 32nd minute, while captain Rakibul Islam doubled the lead 10 minutes later. 

Al Amin netted his second just a minute before the half time whistle.

In the second half, the boys in red and green increased the attacking tempo and bagged four more goals. 

Al Mirad scored a brilliant header within the first three minutes of the second half.

Sri Lanka tried to come back into the game as forward Insan Mohammad Mihran scored to make the scoreline 4-1 in the 50th minute. 

Al Amin netted thrice more in the remainder of the match, as Bangladesh won by a staggering margin of 7-1.

In the remaining league basis matches, Bangladesh will play Nepal Tuesday and host India Thursday.

The top two teams in the table will play in the final, which will take place Saturday.
