Thakurgaon and Rangpur districts reached the final of the JFA U-14 National Women’s Football Championship 2019 after winning their respective semi-finals at BSSMMK Stadium in Dhaka Thursday.
It was a hard-fought win for Thakurgaon as they defeated Mymensingh 3-2 in the penalty shootout after the stipulated time ended 1-1.
Shathi Akter put Thakurgaon ahead in the 36th minute before Ranjana cancelled it nine minutes later.
In the second semi-final, Rangpur edged Magura 1-0 thanks to Liza Begum for his only goal of the game in the ninth minute.
The final will be held at the same venue Friday.
