Bangladesh U-16 women’s football team practiced all day long ahead of their first AFC U-16 Women’s Championship 2019 qualifier game against Philippines on Wednesday afternoon. They had an official training session at the match stadium in Mandalay.

The Bangladesh team is hoping that they will earn an advantage from the size and the surface of the field and will be able to play with an attacking style against their East Asian opponents.

Bangladesh head coach, Golam Robbani Choton said “We have been working very hard since Round 1 of the competition in Dhaka. We will be ready to compete and do Bangladesh proud”.

“All remaining teams are very good and competitive in round two because they are the group champions from round 1. We came here to win and to qualify in the final round like we have done before and play final round at Thailand. We’ve practiced hard for the last year and now we have a better team. Tomorrow (Wednesday) is our first challenge match against the Philippines and we will try to win the match and earn full points from it”, he added.

Bangladesh team captain Maria Manda also spoke in the press conference and was aiming for nothing less than a win in the first game.

“We came here in Myanmar to qualify for the final round at Thailand. Tomorrow (Wednesday) is our first match against Philippines. We want to win the match tomorrow (Wednesday) and want to earn full points.” Maria said.
