Youngster Nabib Newaj Jibon scored a brace as reigning champion Abahani Limited edged Arambagh Krira Sangha 2-1 at Rafiq Uddin Bhuiyan Stadium in Mymensingh Tuesday.
Abahani now have 15 points from half a dozen matches while Arambagh have nine from the same number of outings.
Arambagh went ahead in the 12th minute through Arifur Rahman, who placed home from a pass from Nigerian forward Chinedu Mathew.
Abahani brought parity in the 32nd minute as Jibon entered the box and evaded a couple of defenders before striking home.

The Sky Blues took the lead six minutes later through a brilliant free-kick from Jibon.
Jibon is now joint top of the highest goal-scorers’ list with five goals, alongside Bangladesh Muktijoddha Sangsad Krira Chakra forward Balo Famusa.
Both the teams got a few chances to score in the second half but were unable to add to the scoreline.
After the game, Abahani manager Satyajit Das Rupu said, “We controlled the game. We conceded the goal due to our goalkeeper’s mistake. But we turned around and won the game.”
