Abahani Limited might have clinched the season opening Federation Cup title, but it was Bashundhara Kings who were the most prolific scoring side with 14 goals.
With that said, the Kings also shipped a highest eight goals so a better defence will be in their minds when they kick off their Independence Cup campaign Sunday against Lt. Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club Limited at Bangabandhu National Stadium in Dhaka.
The absence of the suspended Sushanta Tripura will be a setback for them when they take on Sheikh Jamal.

The national defender received an eight-match ban for his part in the fracas in the Federation Cup final against Abahani last month. Towhidul Alam of the Kings was slapped with a six-game suspension.
The Kings have already placed an appeal to reduce the duo’s bans but against Sheikh Jamal, they have to make do without Sushanta and Towhidul.
The two teams faced each other in the Federation Cup where it ended 1-1. Sheikh Russel Krira Chakra are the other team in the group.
