Dhaka Bank Limited signed a six-year contract with the Bangladesh Football Federation in a bid to support the development of women’s football in the country. The official signing ceremony was held at the BFF House on Tuesday noon.

The new sponsor will provide financial assistance for participation in international tournaments along with provide the salaries of female booters who will be staying at BFF’s residential camp.

BFF president Kazi Salahuddin welcomed Dhaka Bank for stretching their hands to help take women’s football forward.  “We need everyone’s support to develop women’s football. It’s the national team. Thanks to Dhaka Bank for coming forward. I hope our girls will meet their expectations,” said Salahuddin.

Sponsors were also ecstatic with their endeavour.

“The female footballers are getting success and we are delighted to be here,” said Dhaka Bank chairman Reshadul Rahman. “We want to stay with the BFF and contribute to the development of women’s football by providing the necessary support,” he added.

BFF general secretary Abu Nayeem Shohag informed that the current wages of the women’s footballers would increase from January and the salary structure would be divided into three categories. He however denied revealing the amount of money the BFF would receive from the deal each year.
