Saif Sporting Club ensured their berth in the Federation quarter-final as Group B champion after handing Brothers Union a thrashing 5-0 defeat in their last match of the group, thanks to Russian forward Denis Bolshakov for his brilliant brace, at Bangabandhu National Stadium in Dhaka Monday.
Saif Sporting were all over the Gopibagh outfit from the beginning as their Korean forward Seungil Park and Bolshakov often penetrated the opponent defence
Left-back Rahmat Mia opened the scoring with a spectacular goal in the 13th minute.
After collecting a pass from Colombian defender Deiner Cordoba Escarpeta, Rahmat unleashed a curved shot from 30 yards that entered through the top right corner.
Jabed Khan doubled the lead in the 31st minute.

Park delivered a cross from the right flank and Brothers keeper Sujon Chowdhury failed to clear properly as his slight touch provided a fine occasion for Jabed to head home into an empty net.
Bolshakov made it 3-0 in the 40th minute tapping home with a sliding effort at the goal-line while Mohammad Mokaram’s risky clearance from a Park cross was rolling towards his own net.
Sazzad Hossain extended the lead in the 83rd minute placing home calmly from the top of the six-yard box following a cross from Nasirul Islam from the right side of the box.
Bolshakov completed the rout in the fourth minute of injury time with an easy tap-in from three yards away.
