The Federation Cup 2018 has been deferred for five days after requests from the clubs for more preparation time as the opening tournament of the new domestic football season is rescheduled to kick off at the Bangabandhu National Stadium on October 27.
A total number of 13 top-flight clubs split into four groups will be taking part in the tournament that is considered by the clubs as a platform to get know the players and the team better ahead of the Bangladesh Premier League.
The BFF general secretary Abu Nayeem Shohag informed that the federation decided to defer the date after the clubs demanded for more preparation time.
The tournament was earlier scheduled to begin on October 22 after all the clubs completed their players’ registration procedure last week with seven of them did it on the deadline day on October 15.
