Bangladesh midfielder Mohammad Abdullah has been ruled out for five months after undergoing surgery in his left leg.
The footballer from Sirajganj tore his ligaments during training in Rangpur, prior to their Fifa international friendly against Sri Lanka in August this year.
After impressive performances for the Bangladesh U-23 team at the 2018 Asian Games in Indonesia, he was called up to the national squad for the recently concluded Saff Championship.

The injury on the eve of the Sri Lanka friendly however, put paid to his participation at the Saff Championship.
Following surgery, Abdullah will miss the two upcoming international tournaments at home, including the Bangabandhu Gold Cup, and the opening stages of the premier league.
