Bangladesh team will face Uruguay in their opening game of the Special Olympics Unified Cup Football tournament that gets underway in Chicago city, USA Tuesday. Bangladesh's game kicks off at 11pm, Bangladesh Standard Time. Bangladesh will lock horns with France in their second match Wednesday before concluding their group stage against host USA the following day.
Earlier Monday, a 21-member Bangladesh contingent, including nine intellectually challenged athletes and six “unified partners”, led by head coach Paritosh Dewan and coach Shamim Ahmed, flew to Chicago. Sixteen men’s and eight women’s teams are participating in the event that marks the occasion of the 50th founding anniversary of the Special Olympics. The event concludes Sunday.
