Rangpur thrashed Lakshmipur 14-0 as the final round of the JFA U-14 National Women's Football Championship got underway at Kamalapur Bir Sreshtha Shaheed Sipahi Mostafa Kamal Stadium in Dhaka Monday. Nasrin scored a whopping six goals for the winning side while Rekha and Brishty netted four each.
In the other match of the day at the same venue, Khulna and Mymensingh played out a 1-1 draw. Ity gave Mymensingh the lead in the 23rd minute before Shefali brought parity in the 27th minute.
Tangail and Magura will take on each other Tuesday at 2pm while Rajshahi and Thakurgaon will face off at 3:45pm. The group stage games will concluded Saturday following which the semi-finals will be held Sunday. The final will be held next Tuesday.The champion will receive Tk50,000 while the runners-up side will pocket Tk25,000. The rest of the teams will each get Tk20,000 as participation money.
The zonal round of the tournament was held from April 24-27 this year. Six zonal champions along with the two best runners-up sides progressed to the final round.
In the final round, the eight teams have been divided into two groups.
