Clear Men U-17 Football: Dhaka, Mymensingh qualify for national round

Dhaka and Mymensingh emerged as the champion and runners-up respectively in the divisional round of the Clear Men Bangladesh U-17 Football Tournament Tuesday. They will now play in the national round. Globally No 1 shampoo brand Clear Men in association with Bangladesh Football Federation organised the tournament for school students. In Dhaka, everyone had to wait with bated breath till the tie-breaker when BAF Shaheen College became the champion of the Dhaka division with three successful attempts. Mohammadpur Government High School finished as the runners-up side by securing two goals during the penalty shoot-out. In Mymensingh, Police Line Ucchya Bidyaloy defeated Mohila Samiti Udayan Ucchya Bidyaloy 3-0.

Uttara Friends Club in the capital hosted the final of the Dhaka division while the Mymensingh Circuit House ground hosted the final of the Mymensingh division. Unilever Bangladesh’s CEO and managing director Kedar Lele graced the event as the special guest. Nearly 270 teams from the country registered for the tournament. In addition to rewarding the best schools, the BFF will also nurture 26 football wizards, picked up from the tournament, in the long run.
