Both the footballers reached Shillong Monday via Kolkata and Guwahati. After setting foot in Shillong, Sabina and Krishna were handed over their jerseys with the former getting No 11 and the latter No 8.
Prolific goalscorer Sabina has previously featured in three seasons in the Maldives League, in the process becoming the first Bangladeshi woman booter to play in a foreign league. As for Krishna, she will be making her debut in a foreign league.
It should be mentioned that Shetu FC lifted their first ever title in the National Senior Women’s Football Championship in February this year, after failing to make it to the final in the previous 22 editions.
A total of seven teams will take part in the tournament, scheduled to be hosted in Shillong. Following the round robin phase, four teams will progress to the semi-finals.
