The kick-off of the BFF U-18 Tournament 2018 has initially been scheduled for April 25 after a meeting of the professional league committee took place at BFF House Saturday.
The 12 Bangladesh Premier League clubs will be taking part in the event which is scheduled to conclude on May 13 with the participating teams split into four groups.
The clubs are monitoring the 3rd Division Football League to form their respective squads, with the fourth-tier league scheduled to end on April 20.
"The clubs will pick their players from the 3rd division league, after the end of which the teams will get four-five days to get prepared for the event. The clubs and country's football will only get benefited from such tournament."
Meanwhile, a few premier league sides have already begun their preparation for the U-18 tournament. Clubs like Saif Sporting Club, Mohammedan Sporting Club Limited, Sheikh Russel Krira Chakra and Rahmatganj Muslim Friends Society roped in some of the young players but the majority of the clubs are yet to start their preparation.
