Titu to coach Sheikh Russel from next season

Update : 22 Mar 2018, 05:30 AM
The Abahani Limited head coach for the AFC Cup, Saiful Bari Titu has decided to join Sheikh Russel Krira Chakra as the coach for the next season. However, the former national head coach wants to keep his focus on the Sky Blues at the moment, until the end of the club's AFC Cup campaign. Titu, who was Chittagong Abahani Limited's head coach last season before joining Abahani during the second week of February, informed Dhaka Tribune that Sheikh Russel showed interest even before the end of the Bangladesh Premier League. He said, "They (Sheikh Russel) offered me verbally before the end of the league. The talks advanced after I got sacked by Chittagong Abahani."Titu was the head coach of Lt. Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club and Mohammedan Sporting Club Limited in 2011 and 2012-13 respectively before joining Arambagh Krira Sangha in 2016. He said, "The deal is not finalised yet. Everything including the salary and other aspects will be decided after the end of the AFC Cup." Abahani's AFC Cup group stage campaign will conclude in May and the 45-year old coach wants to concentrate on the six-time premier league winner until then. He said, "The training camp of Abahani already resumed Tuesday. The four foreign players are training. Only the players (seven) involved in national team duty are missing. There is doubt over injured midfielder Sohel Rana but the condition of Emon Babu is improving and he might start running in two-three days. Hopefully we will get him back before our next AFC Cup match (against Aizawl Football Club on April 11).
