Lt. Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club footballer Mamadou Bah's condition has improved after the Gambian forward suffered a head injury during their Bangladesh Premier League match against Chittagong Abahani Limited Sunday night.
Sushanta Tripura’s feet accidentally landed on Bah during the late stage of the game which saw the player taken immediately out of the Bangabandhu National Stadium in Dhaka. He was taken to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital before being admitted to the Intensive Care Unit of Anwar Khan Modern Medical College and Hospital in Dhanmondi, where the patient is currently under the observation of neurosurgeon Dr Kamrul Hasan.
"The situation is currently stable. The head injury saw him remain unconscious for one and a half hours. He seems to be fine but might need to stay at the hospital for one more day," said the club physio Hossain Mohammad Syfuzzaman Monday evening.
This is Bah’s debut season in the BPL. He made nine starting XI appearances, and 11 as substitute, scoring a total of four goals.
