12th Saff Championship to be held in September next year

The 12th edition of south Asia’s biggest football event, the Saff Championship will be held in September next year, announced the Saff congress in Kathmandu, Nepal on Sunday. Bangladesh early this year were confirmed as the host nation when it was initially decided that the tournament would be held in December this year. But later the event was pushed back to May next year. The latest date of the tournament has been set from September 4-15, 2018. Excluding Afghanistan, a total of seven countries will be taking part in the Championship. The draw of the event was also finalised for March 4, 2018, a day after Saff’s elective congress in Dhaka. Meanwhile, the Saff audit report was also approved in the meeting. Apart from the Championship, the meeting also announced their projected programme for the year of 2018, which includes the hosting of Saff U-15 Women's Championship, Saff U-18 Women's Championship, Saff Women's Championship and Saff U-15 Championship.
