Update : 19 Mar 2015, 09:51 AM

Vangipurapu Venkata Sai Laxman commonly known as VVS Laxman, a former Indian cricketer, has criticised umpire Gould’s decision to call it a 'no ball' when Indian batsman Rohit Sharma was caught off Rubel.

The decision to call Rubel's delivery was based on the fact that it was too high, meaning above the waist.

Laxman tweeted: “Bad decision from Gould, was definitely not above the waist.Lucky break for rohit.this can b the difference in getting xtra 20 runs.”

Tigers are chasing 302 runs in the world cup quarter-final against India in Melbourne Cricket Ground in Australia on Thursday.

Ian James Gould is an ICC Elite Panel cricket umpire and a former English cricketer. He is also chairman of English football club Burnham FC.
