Nat’l Cricket League Rajshahi win in day of draws

Update : 05 Mar 2015, 06:02 PM

Rajshahi picked up their second win of the season after defeating Barisal on the final day of round six in the 16th National Cricket League yesterday. The other three matches of the round, however, ended in draws, largely due to rain and wet outfield.

Rajshahi v Barisal, BKSP 2

Three half-centuries guided Rajshahi to chase down their target of 353 against Barisal with four wickets remaining.

Rajshahi chased down the target riding on half-centuries from opener Myshukur Rahman, Tareq Khan and skipper Forhad Reza. Myshukur provided the kickstart to the chase with 80 runs off 141 balls while Tareq and Forhad chipped in with 77 and 50 respectively.

Dhaka v Rangpur, SBNS

The game ended in a draw after Rajshahi, chasing 288, ended the final day on 100/1. Dhaka earlier scored 259 in their second innings.

Chittagong v Sylhet, Fatullah

This game too ended in a draw but not before some interesting action in the middle. Chittagong posted 332 in their first innings, riding on Iftekhar Sajjad’s unbeaten 126. Later, Sylhet posted 88 for the loss of three wickets in the second innings. The draw meant the two sides are yet to win their first game of the season.

Dhaka Metro v Khulna, BKSP 3

Khulna batted out the entire final day and bagged some batting points. Resuming on 29 for no loss in the second innings, Khulna declared on 331/8. Tushar Imran topped the innings with 71 runs. Dhaka Metro part-time spinner Shamsur Rahman picked up five wickets, his maiden five-for.
