“Bangladesh cricket has improved a lot and they are a tough side to beat at their own conditions. I hope this improvement will continue in the upcoming days as the love for cricket here is fantastic. Though we have a very busy FTP ahead, we will still try to play more matches against Bangladesh,” he added.
It should be mentioned that the Australian cricket team had earlier postponed their tour of Bangladesh citing security concerns last year while Cricket Australia refrained from sending its Under-19 team for the 2016 U-19 World Cup in February.
Recently, CA's head of security Sean Carroll set foot in Dhaka to observe the security arrangements for England's ongoing tour of the country. Australia are scheduled to arrive in Bangladesh in August, 2017 to fulfil the two-Test tour of 2015 that was postponed due to security concerns.There were security concerns over the England cricket team’s tour of Bangladesh after the terrorist attack in Gulshan on July 1. However, the Bangladesh Cricket Board, along with the top government officials ensured highest security for the visitors.
The three-member security team, led by the England and Wales Cricket Board’s security head Reg Dickason, director of cricket operations John Carr and the Professional Cricketers’ Association chief executive David Leatherdale inspected the venues and security measures in Dhaka and Chittagong ahead of the tour and gave the green signal.
England finally arrived on September 30 under heavy security blanket.
The tourists went on to clinch the three-match ODI series 2-1 while the two-Test series was drawn 1-1 after the Tigers registered a historic 108-run win on Sunday.
