ICC suspends Bangladesh off-spinner Sohag Gazi

Update : 08 Oct 2014, 01:52 PM

Bangladesh off-spinner Sohag Gazi has been suspended from bowling in international cricket, reported ESPNcrickinfo.

"He has been suspended by the ICC," BCB cricket operations committee chairman Akram Khan said.

"The CEO [Nizamuddin Ahmed] just told me that his action is over the 15-degree mark. The ICC hasn't yet told the BCB the next course of action."

He was reported for a suspect action by ICC match officials in August, when on tour in West Indies.

Gazi had been reported for bowling action after the second ODI at St George's by ICC officials on August 22.

The ICC has been quite strict with the issue of suspect actions and have already banned Pakistan's Saeed Ajmal and Sri Lanka's Sachithra Senanayake among others after both were found guilty of straying the 15-degree flex rule.
