Bangladesh Cricket Board announced split captaincy to rule the roost on Thursday afternoon.
Veteran paceman Mashrafe Bin Mortaza was announced as captain in one-day cricket and all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan was named vice-captain starting from the home series against Zimbabwe.
In the Test cricket team, Mushfiqur Rahim will continue his captaincy with Tamim Iqbal as his deputy.
BCB President Nazmul Hasan Papon disclosed the information to reporters after a board meeting held at the its office.
Earlier, Nazmul said the board was planning to name different captains for Tests and ODIs, starting with the upcoming home series against Zimbabwe.
The BCB supremo hinted that Mashrafe was the front runner for the ODI captaincy, however, due to his injury concerns, Tamim and Shakib’s names had also been discussed.
