Mahbubul Anam and AZM Nasir bought the nomination papers to run in the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) vice president election. The two board directors however are the only members to purchase the nomination paper after the second day of the procedure yesterday, informed the BCB CEO Nizamuddin Chowdhury.
“Mahbubul Anam and AZM Nasir bought the nomination paper of the BCB VP election. We still have some time left and more people might buy the nomination paper,” said Nizamuddin.
Mahbubul and Nasir are already speculated to be the next vice presidents of the BCB and the rumours are proving right as time is ticking with most of the other board directors not willing to participate for the top posts. Sajjadul Alam and Enayet Hossain Siraj were earlier thought to compete for the positions, but the duo ruled themselves out from the race citing personal reasons.
The window to buy the nomination paper closes on Thursday while the board will reveal the final list after assessment on Saturday. The election of the two vacant vice-presidential posts will be held at the BCB office on September 16.
