Shakib reclaims No 1 spot in ICC Test all-rounder ranking

Update : 15 Aug 2017, 07:13 PM
Ace Bangladesh cricketer Shakib al Hasan has reclaimed his title as the world’s best Test all-rounder, confirmed ICC on Tuesday with a press release. Shakib was earlier replaced by India’s Ravindra Jadeja on August 8, thanks to the latter’s exploits in the second and penultimate Test match against Sri Lanka. Jadeja had claimed seven wickets in Colombo, and also scored a fine unbeaten 70-run knock.

But since Jadeja sat out the third and final Test against the Lankans due to suspension, his rating points decreased from 438 to 430, thus elevating Shakib to the summit. With 431 rating points, Shakib is now the premier Test all-rounder in world cricket. Shakib will now be looking to extend his advantage over Jadeja when Australia visit Bangladesh for a two-match Test series later this month.
