The original International Cricket Council World Cup trophy will arrive in Dhaka today for two days. Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) acting CEO Nizamuddin Chowdhury informed on Tuesday that the trophy will be on display at a shopping mall, with Bashundhara City touted as the frontrunners.
“The trophy will first arrive at the BCB office. Then it will be taken to a mall. Obviously the trophy is original. It is arriving from Sri Lanka,” said Nizamuddin.
The interested fans and spectators will be able to witness the famous trophy tomorrow before it travels to Dubai on Saturday.
Besides co-hosts Australia and New Zealand, the trophy will be traveling across all the 12 teams that are set to take part in the upcoming World Cup next year.
