Although the 6 month ban slapped by BCB on country’s darling cricketer Shakib Al Hasan has not gone well with a large quarter of fans from across the country and beyond, ICC president AHM Mostofa Kamal thinks the punishment was fair enough as there should always be zero tolerance for indiscipline and corruption.
“He came to meet me on Monday and I said what I should say. There should be zero tolerance regarding issues related to indiscipline and corruption. Like we need our cricket board, we also need Shakib and it’s now his turn to help the cricket board. I hope everything will be fine,” said Kamal while talking to the media yesterday.
Meanwhile, there have been heated debates and arguments among fans all over the country, and in social networks too where many of Shakib’s fans voiced their opinion against the severe punishment. Some others, however, thought Shakib deserved it.
Shakib has a lifeline though as he can appeal against BCB’s verdict, but there has been no sign of any appeal from the 27 year old all-rounder. His only notable reaction since the announcement of the verdict have come through his official Facebook page where he has asked his fans to support him and pray for him on.
