Shakib finally flies off to West Indies for CPL T20

Update : 04 Aug 2017, 10:32 PM
Bangladesh all-rounder Shakib al Hasan flew to the West Indies on Thursday night to take part in the Caribbean Premier League Twenty20 for Jamaica Tallawahs. The ace all-rounder was supposed to fly last weekend but due to visa complication the travel date was delayed. Shakib will play in the CPL until August 15. Then he will come back and join the national squad ahead of the two-match Test series against Australia. If that is the case, Shakib could play three-four matches for the Tallawahs. Shakib played for Jamaica last year as well. In the previous year, he had played for Barbados Tridents. So far, Shakib has scored 182 runs and took 23 wickets in 21 CPL games. Meanwhile, Mehedi Hasan Miraz is already in the West Indies for Trinbago Knight Riders. The right-handed all-rounder is available for Saturday's opening match of the tournament. The match starts at 7am, Bangladesh standard time, and will be broadcast live on SonyESPN. Miraz will be the third Bangladesh player to take part in the CPL after Shakib al Hasan and Tamim Iqbal. Miraz will play five or six matches there, provided he is included in the playing XI. He will be available for the matches on August 4, 7, 9, 11, 12 and 14.
