Bangladesh Cricket team skipper Mashrafe Bin Mortaza has received the award of Sera Bangali person of the year from Kolkata’s daily Bengali newspaper Anandabazar Patrika.
The award ceremony was held on Saturday evening in Kolkata where Mashrafe was handed the award by Jhulan Goswami, an all rounder for the Indian national women's cricket team.
"It's a privilege for me to come all the way here from Bangladesh and receive such an honor. I am very happy that I came here." said Mashrafe Bin Mortaza upon receiving the award, reports Anandabazar.Mashrafe is the third Bangladeshi cricketer to receive the award after Habibul Bashar and Shakib al Hasan received the award in 2007 and 2012 respectively for outstanding achievements in sports.
