Update : 27 Feb 2014, 06:12 PM

Bangladeshi opener Tamim Iqbal will be treated by an Indian neuro-surgeon in Singapore’s Mount Elizabeth Hospital today, it was learnt. According to the sources in Singapore, the left-handed opener's appointment with Dr. Prem Kumar Pillay was confirmed yesterday. The 25-year-old had suffered a neck strain after the second Test against Sri Lanka earlier this month and missed the three-match ODI series before been left-out of the Bangladesh squad in the on-going Asia Cup. “Tamim Iqbal's appointment with Dr. Pillay got confirmed today (yesterday) and accordingly, he will be examined by Dr. Prem Kumar Pillay on March 3 at 11:45am,” the source at the hospital said over telephone from Singapore.

Living in Singapore for many years, Dr. Prem Kumar Pillay has been running a Brain Spine Nerve Centre in Mount Elizabeth Hospital. He spent many years working for the Cleveland Clinic, a top hospital in the United States, and won many awards for his neuro research works.
