Bangladesh lost its top order batsmen in the first hour play in the first session of the first test match against Sri Lanka at Mirpur's Sher-e-Bangla stadium on Monday.
Tamim Iqbal, debutant Shamsur Rahman, Marshal Ayub and Mominul returned to the pavilion in what apparently was a match played under one-day cricket sentiments.
Tamim pulled the first delivery of the ninth over of Eranga straight to fine leg where Lakmal held on to the ball before juggling at the edge of the ropes.
Marhsall Ayub fell leg before to Mathews in the very next over. Shamsur Rahman, who was scoring quickly, fell to Eranga again at the eleventh over caught at gully.
Mominul Islam hurried onto a pull in a short delivery to Lakmal and ended up misqueing the ball to short square leg for a splendid catch from Vithanage.
Captain Mushfiqur Rahim and Shakib Al Hasan were at crease seeking to steady the course of the Tigers, who have a not-so-impressive record against Sri Lanka.
