Sheikh Salahuddin passes away

Former Bangladesh off-spinner Sheikh Salahuddin passed away yesterday. The 44-year-old, who had represented Bangladesh in six ODIs in 1997, died following from cardiac arrest in Khulna in the early morning hours yesterday.

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) expressed deep bereavement at the passing of the former cricketer.

At the time of his death, Sheikh Salahuddin had been holding the position of BCB’s Divisional Coach for Khulna Division, the team he had represented as a player at first class level from 2000-2007

A minute's silence was observed before the start of yesterday’s  ODI between Bangladesh and New Zealand at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Salahuddin’s honour.
