Bangladesh head coach Phil Simmons will be unable to accompany the side in the dressing room during the crucial second One Day International against Sri Lanka, set to take place Saturday at R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo.
The head coach travelled to London Friday for a pre-decided medical appointment.
However, he is expected to return to Sri Lanka Monday, a day before the third and final ODI of the side.
Bangladesh trail 0-1 in the three-match series following a 77-run defeat in first ODI in which they experienced a sensational collapse, losing seven wickets for just five runs in 26 balls.
They will be looking to bounce back in the second match Saturday to keep the series alive.
