Former Bangladesh captain Tamim Iqbal, hospitalized due to a heart attack, expressed deep gratitude Tuesday to his fans for their overwhelming support, saying in a heartfelt message that "without your love, I am nothing."
Now feeling much better, he has been able to walk since Monday night and even speak briefly with his family.
Overjoyed by the love and prayers he received, the opener shared his thoughts with fans on Facebook.
Two years ago, during a Nagad advertisement campaign, Tamim provided financial assistance to help an underprivileged father get a heart stent.
Following Tamim’s heart attack, the video of that moment suddenly went viral.
Mentioning this, Tamim began his post by writing: “Two years ago, during this very Ramadan, I visited Anup. That day, I learned that Anup’s father had been unable to undergo heart surgery even after four years. The heartbeat keeps us alive, yet we often forget that it can stop at any moment without warning. When I started my day yesterday, did I have any idea what was about to happen to me?”
Expressing his gratitude to the Almighty Allah, Tamim further wrote: “By the boundless mercy of Allah and everyone’s prayers, I have returned. I am fortunate to have had some incredible people by my side during this crisis, whose wisdom and relentless efforts helped me overcome this challenge.”
Tamim urged everyone with this request: “Certain incidents remind us of reality, showing us how short life truly is. And in this short life, even if we cannot do much, my only request is that we stand by one another in times of hardship.”
Tamim’s hospitalization had left the entire sports community in a state of shock.
There was also a crowd at the hospital.
However, he is now recovering significantly.
