The Bangladesh Cricket Board has extended its heartfelt appreciation to Mahmudullah Riyad for his exceptional contributions to the Bangladesh team.
The seasoned campaigner announced his retirement from international cricket Wednesday, bringing an illustrious 18-year career to a close.
In all, Mahmudullah played 430 international matches across formats, scoring 11,047 runs and taking 166 wickets.
He holds the distinction of hitting the most centuries (four) by a Bangladeshi player in International Cricket Council events and ranks as Bangladesh’s fourth-highest run-scorer in One Day Internationals and second-highest in Twenty20 Internationals.
He holds the honour of leading the national side in six Test matches and 43 T20Is.

His consistency and ability to thrive under pressure have made him an invaluable asset. “Mahmudullah earned a reputation as one of Bangladesh’s most dependable performers in crucial moments. Whether with the bat or ball, he delivered when it mattered most. His calm demeanor in challenging circumstances and his leadership on the field cemented his status as one of the most respected figures in the history of Bangladesh cricket.
