Women’s squad shortened

The national women’s cricket squad for their upcoming tour of South Africa next week has been shortened. The Bangladesh Cricket Board, reducing nine players from the initial squad, yesterday announced a 20-member squad while the board also informed of declaring the final squad for the 15-day tour soon.

The women cricketers are scheduled to depart from Dhaka on September 9 to play three ODIs and as many Twenty20 matches. The ODIs will be played at Senwes Park, Potchefstroom, on September 12, 14 and 15 while the three T20s will be played on September 20, 22 and 24. Other than that the touring party will also feature in a warm-up one-day game against the South Africa Emerging Women’s Team at Olympia Park on September 18.
