Top-order batter Imrul Kayes has announced his retirement from Test and first-class cricket, but will continue to feature in the white-ball format.
The left-handed Kayes, famous for his epic stands in the longer version alongside opener Tamim Iqbal, played the last of his 39 Tests in 2019 against India.
The 37-year old will make his 138th and final first-class appearance in next week’s National Cricket League match for Khulna Division against Dhaka Division in Mirpur.
Kayes, who also turned out for the Tigers in 78 One Day Internationals and 14 Twenty20 internationals, wrote on social media: "Goodbye. Test cricket. Grateful for the love.
"I want to convey one thing with respect and love to all the cricket-loving viewers of Bangladesh.
"I am going to take a difficult decision in my career very soon. I am going to retire from Test cricket and at the same time I will play the last match of my first-class career. This is one of the most difficult and emotional moments of my life in my 17-year long career."
