Former Bangladesh skipper Mashrafe bin Mortaza is set to return to competitive cricket after being picked up by Detroit Falcons in US Masters T10 League.
Elias Sunny and Syed Rasel, two other cricketers who have been out of the game for a long time also got team in the tournament alongside Mashrafe.
Though Mashrafe did not retire from the Bangladesh team officially, he has been out of the national fold since 2018.
But he has played regularly in the Dhaka Premier League and Bangladesh Premier League despite his injury problem.
And as he was an elected Member of Parliament, his decision to also continue cricket was criticized regularly.
However, after the ouster of the Awami League government following a student-led movement, Mashrafe is no longer an MP.
Rasel and Elias meanwhile, were not regular in domestic cricket.
Arafat Sunny, Kamrul Islam Rabbi and Al-Amin Hossain would also be part of the competition for different teams and they are still playing cricket at domestic level.
Nurul Hasan is the other one picked for the tournament after getting recruited by his team on direct signing.
Detroit Falcons, Morrisville Unity, Chicago Players, California Bolts, New York Warriors and Atlanta Riders are the six teams which would play the tournament, running from November 8-17.
