The Tigers opened their campaign with a two-wicket win over the Lankans in Friday’s Group D clash in Dallas.
Chasing 125, the Tigers reached their destination with an over to spare with Towhid Hridoy top-scoring with 40 and Liton Das chipping in with 36.
Mahmudullah guided Bangladesh to the shore with his unbeaten 16.
Nuwan Thushara bagged four wickets for the Lankans while captain Wanindu Hasaranga took two.
Bangladesh earlier put in an impressive bowling display to restrict Sri Lanka to 124 runs for nine wickets.
The Lankans, asked to bat first, posted 53 for the loss of two wickets at the end of the powerplay but then lost their way in the face of some disciplined bowling by the Tigers.
Mustafizur Rahman (3/17) and Rishad Hossain (3/22) led the way for the men in red and green, while Taskin Ahmed (2/25) and Tanzim Hasan Sakib (1/24) also played their part.
