Bangladesh Cricket Board Monday announced the appointment of Mohsin Sheikh as the national team performance analyst for a two-year term beginning in May this year.

Mohsin, an Australian of Pakistani descent, had been the analyst for the Bangladesh side during the white-ball tour of New Zealand in December 2023.

He will join the team ahead of the forthcoming Twenty20 series against Zimbabwe.

Zimbabwe will tour Bangladesh for a five-match T20 International series scheduled to begin on May 3.

The first three games of the series will be played in Chittagong’s Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium and the last two at Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Dhaka.

Mohsin previously worked with the Afghanistan national team, the Pakistan Cricket Board and Cricket Australia.

He has also been a performance analyst for teams in major T20 leagues such as the Bangladesh Premier League, Pakistan Super League, Indian Premier League and the Big Bash League.

While working with the Afghanistan cricket team, Mohsin made the headlines during the Asia Cup last year.

Afghanistan side were unaware of the detailed calculations for qualifying to the Super-Four round of the tournament and gave the game up early.

Cricket enthusiasts later blamed the Afghanistan team management for the event, particularly the team analyst Mohsin.

In his reaction, Mohsin had stated: “Easy to be keyboard warriors and abuse.”
