Tigers to play three T20Is away to USA ahead of T20 WC

All the 3 matches will take place at Prairie View Cricket Complex in Houston, Texas on May 21, 23 and 25 respectively

Bangladesh will play three Twenty20 Internationals against the United States of America in the last week of May this year, just ahead of the T20 World Cup, confirmed USA Cricket through a press release Thursday.

All the three matches will take place at Prairie View Cricket Complex in Houston, Texas on May 21, 23 and 25 respectively.

Commenting on the development, Venu Pisike, chairman of USA Cricket, said: “Ahead of the important T20 World Cup, these games will be vital for our team to get their working combinations, build team cohesion, and fine-tune strategies. I’d also like to thank International Cricket Council, Cricket Canada and the Bangladesh Cricket Board who offered their full support in scheduling of the matches.”

A total of three venues in the USA and six in the Caribbean will be used for the T20 World Cup.

The tournament will commence on June 1 with co-hosts USA taking on neighbors Canada, while fellow hosts the West Indies will play Papua New Guinea in Guyana on the second day of group play.

Ten of the 20 teams will play their first match of the 29-day tournament in the USA, with 16 contests to be held in Lauderhill, Dallas and New York and the blockbuster clash between India and Pakistan scheduled for the new Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in Long Island on June 9.

Forty-one games will be held in the Caribbean across six different islands, with semi-finals in Trinidad and Tobago and Guyana and the title decider scheduled to be played in Barbados on June 29.

Bangladesh will start their campaign against Sri Lanka on June 7 at Dallas, Texas.

Bangladesh are pitted in Group D along with South Africa, Sri Lanka, the Netherlands and Nepal.

After the Sri Lanka tie, Bangladesh will contest their next game against South Africa in New York on June 10.

The Tigers’ third and fourth game against the Netherlands and Nepal will be played in Saint Vincent, the West Indies on June 13 and 16 respectively.
